Accepting Prompts:
The first nine prompts will be posted on the "Mellow Lane" board in a thread titled "Prompts for Phase One". There will be a new prompt posted each Monday. Every writer is personally responsible to go to the board and read the prompt. Answers to the prompt should be posted before the next prompt is handed out, i.e. until the following Sunday.
Prompts for Phase two will be published in blocks into a thread titles "Prompts for Phase two". These blocks will also include information on which writer is going to participate in that round and which writer is going into hiatus for that round.
Posting Answers to Prompts:
Post your answers to the first nine tasks into a thread belonging to your home on Mellow Lane. The thread has to be in the subboard "Mellow Lane / Setting" and has to be titled: "# XYZ, Mellow Lane" where XYZ is your chosen house number.
The short stories written in phase two of the project should be posted into the "Finished Stories" - board. The threads should be titled "Mellow Lane – [XYZ] – [Title]". Where [XYZ] stands for the number of your prompt and [Title] stands in for the title of your short story.
Comments on a short story may be posted straight to the corresponding thread.
If you do not post your stories here on the board but instead on your private LJ, you will still have to create the thread and then post a link to your text into it.
Creating more than one home on Mellow Lane:
If you have time, you may create more than one home. You may also create a business or public place if you want. There may only be one building of a kind created. The rule of "first come, first serve" applies here. If writer X creates a primary school, then writer Y who wants to post their description of another primary school a day later, may not do so any more. Speed is win, here.
If you are creating another home, a public place, or a business, you'll have to create a new thread for that place in the Mellow Lane -subboard: "Setting / Additional Places".
Big events on Mellow Lane:
For Phase two: If your story features a big event taking place on Mellow Lane, you should post a description of the event in the subborad "Setting / Events". This is so that the other writers know what happened and can include the event into their own stories.
